Scenario 3

An eighth grade student with a history of behavior problems and disciplinary referrals was removed from the educational setting when the student told a classmate that he intended to bring a gun to school. The student’s IEP contained both academic goals and behavior services. The CCC found no manifestation between the behavior and the student’s disability. The school subsequently removed the student from the educational setting for approximately 6 weeks. During the removal the student was provided two hours of daily tutoring.

Did the school provide all of the necessary educational services to the student during the period of removal?
