Indiana’s Vision of Response to Intervention is a framework for prevention, advancement and early intervention which involves determining whether all students are learning and progressing optimally academically and behaviorally when provided with high quality instruction. Indiana RTI offers the opportunity to integrate, collaborate, and cooperate across various educational initiatives including, but not limited to school improvement, Title I, RTI, and family/school partnerships. Indiana RTI is based on research for implementing systemic change that incorporates six Core Components. These components include the following:
Visit the IRIS Center for Training Enhancements for free online interactive resources that translate research about the education of students with disabilities into practice. Our materials cover a wide variety of evidence-based topics, including behavior, RTI, learning strategies, and progress monitoring.
WestEd initiative, helps schools and districts address the challenge of raising student achievement. In an interactive web format, SchoolsMovingUp offers resources to help education professionals make sound decisions and take action in their school reform efforts.
The Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports has been established by the Office of Special Education Programs, US Department of Education to give schools capacity-building information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting, and sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary practices.
NRCLD's goal is to help educators, policymakers, and parents understand the complexity and importance of making sound decisions regarding whether a child has a specific learning disability. Our research in this area--including studies of the role of and best practices associated with responsiveness to intervention--is the foundation underlying all of the materials available on this site.
To meet the challenges of implementing effective progress monitoring, the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has funded the National Center on Student Progress Monitoring. Housed at the American Institutes for Research, and working in conjunction with researchers from Vanderbilt University, we are a national technical assistance and dissemination center dedicated to the implementation of scientifically based student progress monitoring.
As part of our mission to build state capacity for implementing proven and promising frameworks for RTI, the National Center on Response to Intervention (RTI) has developed an evidence-based strategy for delivering technical assistance (TA) to individual state educational agencies (SEAs) across the country. Collaboration with other TA projects in providing TA to SEAs will be a critical focus.
The RTI Action Network is dedicated to the effective implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) in school districts nationwide. Our goal is to guide educators and families in the large-scale implementation of RTI so that each child has access to quality instruction and that struggling students – including those with learning disabilities – are identified early and receive the necessary supports to be successful. The RTI Action Network is a program of the National Center for Learning Disabilities, funded by the Cisco Foundation and in partnership with the nation’s leading education associations and top RTI experts.
