Instructional Evaluation - Discussion List
The reading commands can be used to read forms, worksheets, and tests.
(Kurzweil reads highlighted words on the form on screen.)
The layout of these items may be complicated and you may need to use the Zone Editor to ensure that items are read in the correct order.
To fill in the blanks automatically on a form, worksheet or test, choose Tools -> Fill In The Blanks. Kurzweil will automatically place the text note in each blank on the page.
Use the Tab key to move from blank to blank.
This test has been created in Word. To convert it to use in Kurzweil, print the document to the KESI Virtual Printer. Now all of the Kurzweil features are available for use with the test.
Text notes can be used for filling in the blanks, such as your name or a short answer.
Sticky notes might be a better choice for entering a large block of text or for providing test instructions to the students.
Voice notes might provide an alternate way of answering questions for a student who has trouble keyboarding. The teacher could also use voice notes to provide instructions or special reminders for the worksheet or test.
The highlight tools could be used to highlight multiple choice or true/false answers.
A teacher may wish to restrict a student’s access to one or more Kurzweil features during test taking. Choose Tools -> Options, and on the Test Taking tab you can disable the items you don’t want available during test taking.
You can optionally Password-Protect your choices to prevent the student from turning them back on during the test. Items grayed out on the toolbars will no longer be available.
This concludes Section 15.
