Section 1. Launching Kurzweil, User Accounts and Tip of the Day

To launch Kurzweil, click on the Kurzweil 3000 icon on the Windows desktop.

The first time you launch Kurzweil, the program will prompt you for a User Name. Type your name in the box. New users can always be added by typing their names at startup.

When you click OK, you will see a message telling you where the new user accounts will be added.

You can also delete the User Accounts from this location.

To change a user without shutting down Kurzweil, go to File and Change User.

In this box you can use your arrow keys or your mouse to cycle through the available users. And click OK.

Each time you open Kurzweil a new Tip for using the program will be displayed. You can minimize or close this Tip.

You can read the next Tip by going to Help and choosing Next Tip of the Day.

Or you can disable the Tips by going to Tools and Options and on the General tab you can uncheck the box next to Tip of the Day on Startup.

If there is only one user, you can also disable the box that asks for user on startup on this same tab.

Click Apply, and you are done.
