INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the IDEAL Partnership (Indiana Designs Equitable Access for Learning) module development Guidelines. These guidelines are designed to walk an author through the process of module develop from how to outline a proposed module through the posting of the module to the IDEAL Partnership web site at http://www.idealindiana.com.


MODULE DESCRIPTION:

This module is intended to guide authors through the necessary steps for creation and publication of an IDEAL Module. All the specifications will be outlined including: 
  • Module component descriptions
  • Recommended software programs
  • Accepted text formatting
  • Accepted development/submission methods
  • Technical and WWW searching tips

INSTRUCTIONAL PROFICIENCIES:

Upon completion of this module the user will be able to:
  1. Identify the four main components of a IDEAL Module.
  2. Recognize which IDEAL Module development/submission methods are appropriate to the user's development style and available resources. 
  3. Utilize one of the accepted development/submission methods to complete a IDEAL Module which will be aligned with the new Mild Intervention standards for the state of Indiana .
  4. Gather online resources using the appropriate web-based search tool for his/her subject area.

INSTRUCTIONAL EVENTS:

  1. Review "How the Development Process Works"
  2. Read "Author Introduction"
  3. Go through the "IDEAL Project: How to Create a Module" over view presentation for background on the original "Hardhats project" and component descriptions.
  4. Review the "IDEAL Development & Submission Guidelines".
  5. Complete the "Mock Development/Submission Exercise" which will include the "Discussion Thread Practice".
  6. Complete the training evaluation sheet (to be distributed by your instructor), being sure to offer any suggestions you may have to help improve on this module this module.
INSTRUCTIONAL EVALUATION:

The completed text for the modules are submitted to Susan Jacobs at sjacobs@insightbb.com and Bob Soulliere at  BSUWebPerson@BSU.EDU. The completed module will be posted as-is, if it meets all the criteria described and explained in the "Instructional Events" component of this module.
